Ride Arches National Park and Visit Canyonlands National Park
Today was a really good day. It started with a great ride through Arches National Park and finished with a visit to Canyonlands National Park and a short hike.
We got to arches as early as possible in order to beat the heat and traffic. The lighting was spectacular !
Not many pictures form arches today but I did take some vids showing key areas of the park. Here are some shots that highlight areas different than what I incuded yesterday when we drive through the park.
It was a great ride and we made good time to Devil's Garden. Here is a shot of Tom, Molly and I at the garden and it shows how you look after a long ride in the warmth!
Early monring Descent in Arches National Park that shows all the beauty of this place
Descending on the return to the car, another gorgeous descent.
Here is a video of the descent into the visitor's center at Arches.
And here is a vid showing our route
After we finished out ride we decided to drive out to Canyonlands National Park and go to the Needles Overlook. It was different than Arches but still magnificent. The area around Cayonlands is essentially the Grand Canyon of Utah. I keep thinking I've seen it all and then we find another national treasure out here. We walked around the Rim trail and found some amazing views.
We all got quite brave with the edge of the canyon wall
And we took severl pictures on the rock outcroppings
The view at the lookout was just amazing
Tom auditioned for the Darwin Awards
And Molly tried to puch me over the edge
By this time we were pretty tired and very warm as it was up into the 90s. We had another mile to walk out along the path we cam in on. Here's a shot Tom took showing us on that trek.
On the drive out of the park the colors were nothing short of amazing
