Potash Road and Arches National Park
Well, today was quite the day. Moab and the surrounding areas seem like they must be what heaven is like becasue this place is nothing if not spectacular. Every corner we keep saying .. Wow ! Here is a shot of the sunrise as we left the house this AM for a ride.
We started out at a park near the Colorado River and ride out the bike path to Potash Road. I was pretty concerned over my rim issues and wether I was going to get a flat tire or not.
Here is Tom's traditional opening video.
We had to dart across the main road to get to Potash Road but it was worth it! Here are some shows from the ride.
There were some neat things along the way too like these Petroglyphs
And this neat Arch called the Jug Handle Arch.
And these Cacti were everywhere and bloming !
At the turn around point there was a giant Potash processing plant. Pretty cool looking place.
And the back etrance to Canyonlands National Park
On the trip back the climbers had started climbing the sheer cliffs. This woman was strating a free climb .. amazing!
Here is the map for today's ride where once again I got flat tire.
After finishing the ride and repairing my flat we decided to go for a hike in Arches National Park. Pretty spectacular place. Here is Balancing Rock
It was pretty warm but we had to wak abit to get to Natural Arch. Not a bad walk but sandy in places. Here's Molly along the trail.
Natural Arch was pretty impresive
And here are some pics of us in from of Natural Arch.
While at Natural Arch, we also saw this arch in the distance
Here is an example of other neat rock formaitons in the park
After getting back to the house, i decided I better do a short ride to checkout my flat repair so i went back to the hill near the house.
It was hot.
I ended up almost hitting a coyote.
Here is a map of my short ride.
And then returned to the house for the evening
