August 6, 2009 – Santa Fe, New Mexico

Rode Santa Fe Hillclimb Challenge

Great climb today, and the weather held which is amazing. Today we drove down from Taos back to the Residence Inn an climbed to the ski area in Santa Fe. We almost Killed Bill today, so I think I am glad the trip is almost over.

We rode from the hotel through Santa Fe to get to the climb. It was nice, although Santa Fe was quite a bit more crowded than when we were here last week. The climb started smoothly but kicked up to around 7% at the midway point. Not really hard, but still some work for us flatlander when live by the ocean.

After the mid way point, it alternated steep and easier sections. Here is a picture of a section part way up the climb.

The views from 10,200 feet are amazing.
